The challenge here was to create something functional/easy to understand for all ages and demographics, while keeping in mind that the Griffith Observatory is part of the California Department of Recreation and Parks.

The call to action is simply the navigation at the top, since many will already know what information they are looking for. I wanted listings to be simple, so that they would be clear to youth and seniors. The secondary section is playful, inviting the visitor to explore some offerings at Griffith. This group of images would float across horizontally, as one enlarges when the mouse hovers over it. Then below, a couple UI cards listing astronomy news, followed by current calendar listings and admission information. I used transparencies and star images throughout the page to convey sky and light. Bright yellow was used for the solar element and a midnight blue for the night sky.
